1. You’ll get lost in the town of Mykonos
The main town was strategically designed to be a maze. The labyrinth-like streets were built to disorient pirates, allowing the locals to have the upper hand and attack when needed. While there may not be any pirates around today, the winding streets add to the overall charm.
2. It is the most progressive Greek Island
Mykonos is widely known as one of the top vacation destinations for LGBTQ. One hot spot is Jackie O which has locations on Super Paradise Beach and in the town of Mykonos.
3. It is a foodie haven
Regardless of if you’re a penny pincher or a splurging foodie; you’re bound to find a meal that is to-die-for. One favorite spot is M Eating which features a wider Mediterranean cuisine. Menu highlights include fresh ravioli stuffed with braised beef fillet and goat cheese.
4. You can catch a performance from one of the top DJs in the world
Mykonos’ nightlife rivals that of Ibiza and Vegas. Cava Paradisio (Paradise Club) has a killer summer lineup which includes Steve Aoki, Martin Garrix and Afrojack.
5. You can literally buy two tickets to Paradise
Paradise beach is one of the top spots on the island to soak up some sun and a few drinks. It is easily accessible by public transportation and bus tickets cost approx. €1.60 each way. If you buy a round-trip ticket, you’ll find yourself saying “two tickets to Paradise, please”.
