“Wow” is the first thing that comes to mind when I think back on my EF College Break trip to Germany, Italy, and Switzerland. The trip went beyond my expectations. I started out with an open mind, a packed bag and some pre-travel jitters. This was my first time leaving the country alone. What would it be like to travel with a group? How would we all get along?
The Group Experience was Unforgettable
Almost immediately, the group bonded together and ultimately, even, became great friends. It was really cool that complete strangers from all over the United States, the same age as me, were coming together to experience all these new places, cultures, and activities while barely knowing each other.
Mt. Pilatus was One of the Most Amazing Experiences of My Life
Our excursion to Mt. Pilatus in the Swiss Alps was absolutely breathtaking. From the start of our journey in Lucerne’s town center, to the boat ride through Lake Lucerne, to the cable car ride up the mountain past miles of lush grass and grazing cows, to the hike up to the very top of the mountain, it was a surreal experience that I will never forget. My friend Aurora and I even went off path to get to the very top of the mountain. When we got to the top, the other side was a straight drop down. We also couldn’t see anything because we were completely in the clouds. It was scary, but completely worth it. Exploring Mt. Pilatus and taking in the incredible panoramic views from the top were by far one of the most amazing experiences of my life.
The Bottom Line
I’m so glad I decided to go on this trip. I highly recommend it to anyone! You get to see the best of several different countries and cities in a short amount of time. It is so easy to fit this trip into everyone’s busy schedules because it is only ten days. I can guarantee you would not regret booking it. I had an unforgettable experience and met some really awesome people. I can’t wait to go on another EF College Break trip soon!
