One Day in London

Cheerio! You’ve arrived in London, Europe’s biggest city. With so much room for activities, how can you see it all? Here are the highlights you can’t miss, and how to do it all in one day.

Kick your day off with a traditional Full English breakfast consisting of eggs, sausage, bacon, black pudding and baked beans. Wash it down with a spot of tea or cup of coffee. You’re a growing boy/girl.

Head out for a little walking tour. Check out Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abbey before the crowds descend. Once you feel connected enough to the Royal Family, take a quick stroll to see the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, which are all a hop, skip and a jump away from each other.

Walk 10 minutes on the Queen’s Walk (how regal!) and take a spin on the London Eye for incredible views of the city. Book tickets online in advance to avoid waiting in the queue.

Head to Waterloo Station and board the Tube headed to Leadenhall Market for lunch. Grab a bite to eat and see if you can find the hidden entrance to the Leaky Cauldron from the Harry Potter films.

Walk 10 minutes to the Tower of London, home to the Crown Jewels and London’s dark, torturous past. Buy tickets online to avoid lines.

Once you’re done at the Tower of London, grab a quick photo of the famous Tower Bridge. Then, hop back on the Tube (Circle Line) and head to Covent Garden. Do some shopping, watch the street performers, grab a drink in a local pub. Live in the moment.

Stroll to the Times Square of London, Piccadilly Circus, via Leicester Square. Take in the lights and bustling livelihood of London.

There’s no shortage of restaurants and bars in Piccadilly Circus. Pick a traditional pub or a modern, upscale restaurant. There’s something for everyone here.

Time to hit the town. Entertainment abounds in Piccadilly Circus, or head to London’s West End neighborhood, Soho. Recently gentrified, this neighborhood is now a hotspot for clubs and nightlife that will keep you busy through the wee hours of the morning.
