Before exploring London’s high end Bloomsbury neighborhood and its friendly English pubs, stop in at the British Museum (free!) and check out the most famous inscription in the world, the Rosetta Stone. The Rosetta Stone was the key to deciphering ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphs.  Discovered by Napoleon’s troops in 1799 in Egypt and finally deciphered in 1822 by Jean Francois Champollion, the Rosetta Stone unlocked millions of Egyptian inscriptions that could now be read.

You can make time to see the Rosetta Stone on almost any trip to London, like London and Paris Escape and London, Paris & Barcelona.
